FHA Board Meeting Notes — April 2017

TO KEEP EVERYONE UP TO DATE ON WHAT THE FHA BOARD IS DOING, HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED OR DECIDED AT THE APRIL, 2017 BOARD MEETING:

  • President Katherine Boschetto is meeting with a floating homes resident who is a marketing person to review and revise the website text and other marketing materials.
  • After some discussion about the proliferation of anchor-outs on Richardson’s Bay, three Board members offered to draft a letter voicing support for removal of abandoned and derelict vessels, and illegal mooring balls.
  • The Floating Times had 87 subscribers as of April 17. Dock reps were asked to encourage neighbors to subscribe, and the Floating Times Committee will help anyone who needs it. Editor Larry Clinton also asked dock reps to share news about happenings on their docks.
  • There are 15 new CERTS following the April training.
  • Three docks have scheduled Get Ready FHA meetings in the next few weeks. These meetings include the opportunity to purchase backpacks at an FHA-subsidized discount. All docks are encouraged to participate.
  • Jennifer Gennari received approval for an email to dock reps about the FHA-sponsored table for six at the Jazz and Blues by the Bay concerts in Gabrielson Park.
  • Reps were asked to count the number of shopping carts on each dock so the FHA can begin planning on buying more.
  • Now that the Van Damme restoration project has been approved by the BCDC, it was agreed to donate $1,000 to the project.
