Call for Homes & Volunteers for Floating Homes Tour

Tired but happy volunteers relax following last year’s tour | photo by Jung Vu |  from an FT article by Larry Clinton

Thanks to homeowners Patrick Hughes, Mike Faith and Daren and Aurelia Joy of Liberty Dock; Rusty Hendley and Tony Williams of Main; and Donna Bragg and Joe Tate, Hillair Bell and Michael Sheats, plus Louise and Tom Simpson on South 40, we already have six of the 10 homes that will be open on tour day. If you have a home on one of these docks you’d like to show off on tour day (or on a private tour some other time), please contact Michele Affronte: mgmarin@earthlink.net or Katherine Boschetto: kbbb@mindspring.com.

We have also begun volunteer signups with VolunteerSpot.com. Want to help? Go to the site—CLICK HERE—and select the job and shift you want. The earlier you register, the better your chance of getting your first choice. If you’ve never volunteered before, check with one of your neighbors who has. You’ll find it’s a fun and rewarding day!

Again this year, there will be food, refreshments and entertainment on Kappas Green. The plan is to showcase local artists, writers and artisans, as well as exhibits by waterfront nonprofits such as the Cass Gidley Community Marina. If you’d like to participate, or to recommend a worthy nonprofit, contact Teddie Hathaway: teddie@teddiehathaway.com.

The next Tour Committee Meeting is April 11 at #29 Gate 6½.

Meetings start at 6:45 for drinks and appetizers, and generally end about 8:30.
