
HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED OR DECIDED AT THE APRIL 14 BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
In President Peter Miller’s absence, FHA VP Alex Schoer called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. with 13 Board members in attendance at 1 East Pier, and 5 more joining remotely via Zoom.
- Treasurer Cathryn Flynn reported that due to a very successful silent auction and great sponsorship, the Annual Meeting exceeded its revenue budget by $1,100 which offset the expenses exceeding budget by just about the same amount. The event contributed almost $2,600 in net revenue to the Association. Net Revenue for the quarter exceeded $4,000, bringing cash on hand to $8,442. Revenue areas for the Board to focus on are Membership, Tours, and Advertising.
- Events Chair BettyAnn Kram provided an update on the May 3 Day in the Park (see accompanying post).
- Floating Times Editor Larry Clinton again pointed out that he will be retiring from the position in August and invited any interested successor to contact him to begin training for a smooth transition.
- Private Tours chair Lewis Shireman announced a tour for Sausalito Village members on May 13. He has three homes lined up for the tour. Plans for a series of tours for cruise ship passengers have failed to materialize, so Lewis is seeking help marketing these tours to destination management companies, senior centers and other prospects. If you have the time and marketing skills, please contact Lewis.
- Website Manager Stanton will be asked to attend at least a portion of upcoming Board meetings to provide updates and answer questions.
- Past President Pete Hudson will be cleaning up the contents of the Disaster Response Trailer on Gate 6 Road starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, and invited residents to stop by and learn what is available from the trailer. Dock reps will be notified of the date.
- FHA Secretary Karen Tischler will send dock reps a notice of a meeting to address chronic flooding and sea level rise risks in the Gate 5 Road corridor on Wed, April 29th 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Bay Model.
