The Southern Marin Fire Protection District (SMFPD) is partnering with ReadyMarin to host free 90 minute disaster preparation classes. These classes offer a base level of emergency prep training, ensuring each attendee walks away understanding local risks, gets signed up for AlertMarin, and receives a Go Bag to get them started. You’ll even learn hands-only CPR and how to use an extinguisher.
Whether you’re just getting started with preparedness or want to strengthen your current plans, this class will give you the confidence and tools to act safely and support your community. You’ll learn essential skills to protect yourself and your loved ones:
- Understand and respond to emergency alerts
- Create a personal disaster plan
- Use a fire extinguisher
- Perform hands-only CPR
The next class will be on Saturday, April 25 at the First United Methodist Church of San Rafael, 9 Ross Valley Dr. from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Space is limited, so reserve a spot online.
