Gate 5 road flooding

In recent years, the Gate 6 ½ parking lot has flooded in even minimally high tides. But on Wednesday October 11, Kappas Marina began repaving and raising most of the lot.
For two days, residents had to vacate the lot except for the turning circle at the end of Gate 6 ½ Road. With everyone’s cooperation the project went smoothly, and cars returned to the lot Friday morning.
The payoff for this inconvenience became obvious on Sunday the 15th when nearby Gate 5 road was partially inundated in just a 5.7’ tide. At the same time, the Gate 6 ½ lot was at least 6 inches above the water line.
