The Sausalito Floating Homes Virtual Gala and Tour is only THREE weeks away, and the Planning Committee has been working feverishly to curate and create a fabulous evening for all. Do you have your tickets yet?
Cavallo Point Stay-and-Play Live Auction Package
We are thrilled to announce that Cavallo Point will be featured as part of our live auction portion of the event, which will be facilitated by celebrity auctioneer State Senator Mike McGuire.
Voted #1 “Best Hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area” and Winner for “Sustainable Tourism Leadership,” Cavallo Point Lodge, located at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, is a short distance from downtown San Francisco and is known for both its stunning natural setting in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and its storied history.
Look for this exciting (and luxurious) offering as part of our live auction, as well as wonderful pieces of art, services, books and more as part of our silent auction. The silent auction opens for bidding on June 2, so get ready to bid early and often!
Featured Homes on the Virtual Tour
This year, the tour will feature several very special floating homes. One home, the Fairy Tale, was originally a life boat for World War II, and was built in 1943. It was salvaged in 1968 and converted into a home by a couple who wanted to live off the grid. Every owner since then has made some major changes to make this floating home a true Fairy Tale.
Another architectural masterpiece, the Train Wreck, is built from an exquisite 1889 North Pacific Railway Pullman car that was cut in half and integrated into the ingenious structure.
New to the tour this year is the Mirene, a beautifully restored, bright red and white 64-foot 1912 tugboat. Have you ever wanted to see inside these floating homes? Now is your chance!
How You Can Help
Please help spread the word for this exciting event by sharing with your friends and family via your personal or social media connections. Ticket sales go directly to supporting the Floating Homes Association’s efforts to care for and grow the community, as well as supporting this year’s wonderful nonprofit partners: Performing Stars of Marin, Friends of the Marin City Library, and the Bay Area Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Are you an artist, business owner or service provider? Donate to our silent auction by filling out our Auction Item Submission Form.
But most of all, please join us from 6:30 p.m to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9 to celebrate, support, and share with friends far and wide from the comfort of your own home.
