Gate 6 ½ alums Kate and Dennis Green are the subjects of a charming profile by NBC Bay Area.

The Greens moved to shore in Sausalito a few years ago, and Dennis opened a unique boutique called Karl the Store (think of Karl the Fog in San Francisco). The shop, at 1201 Bridgeway, is “grounded in mid century modern with a worldly eclectic point of view…” according to its website, and offers an eclectic mix of contemporary and vintage furniture, home goods, jewelry, clothing, art, and Sausalito memorabilia.

The profile tells how Kate ended up in the pie business as the result of a controversy over a sign in the store’s window. Now a busy baker, Kate told NBC: “I think it’s a bit of nostalgia when people taste our pies, because it tastes like what mom used to make.”
