South 40 dock rep Louise Simpson has agreed to take on the vital position of FHA Membership Chair. She and her husband Tom moved here in 2015. Interested in downsizing, they checked out a Zillow listing on A Dock, but also saw an open home on South 40 they preferred. “It had enough closet space,” Louise recalls.
Shortly after moving aboard, Louise volunteered as dock rep, figuring that was a great way to introduce herself to her neighbors. “I’ve always been a joiner,” she says, recalling her stint on the Piedmont Planning Commission. Since moving aboard, she and Tom have been pleasantly surprised to find out “how tight-knit and friendly” this community is.
In her new role, Louise will be planning the annual FHA membership meeting and party, and also staging an all-dock alert such as those we’ve enjoyed recently. She was instrumental in securing the FHA table for this summer’s Jazz and Blues by the Bay concerts, and looks forward to meeting folks from different docks there.
