With a little help from the Floating Homes Association, residents of Gate 6 ½ did some spring sprucing earlier this month.

Lori Bergeron, Felicity Gordon, Blaise Simpson, Patti Bott and Jung Vu joined forces to sand the rust off wrought iron chairs at the end of the dock and repaint them. Now the’ll be enjoyed at dock parties and other gatherings for several more years. Part of the expense was reimbursed by the FHA.

Every year, the FHA reimburses docks for expenses for activities such as parties, plantings or dock upgrades, to the tune of $10 per berth. To qualify, receipts must be submitted by dock reps before the end of the year.

In addition, Felicity took it upon herself to design and install a little library for the dock entry which was eagerly put to use by neighbors.

It’s a blessing to have such industrious neighbors.
