Ember Stomp Returns Sept 6

Once again, the Marin Fairgrounds, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, will be the scene of Ember Stomp, a chance to learn how we can all prepare for wildfire.

Presented by Fire Safe Marin, this free event will run from 10-4 on Saturday, September 6. Highlights include:

✅ Live Burn Demonstration: Witness the dramatic difference that ember-resistant building materials and retrofitting techniques can make in slowing fire spread.

✅ Emergency Preparedness Resources: Connect with local fire agencies, emergency services, and wildfire experts to get tips, tools, and resources.

✅ Fire-Resilient Landscaping Exhibit: Learn from Marin Master Gardeners about creating defensible space and selecting fire-smart plants.

✅ Climate Resilience:  Gain a deeper understanding about how and why our climate is changing and learn what you can do to make us more resilient.

✅ Interactive Kids Zone: Enjoy bilingual activities, family games, and engaging entertainment for all ages.

✅ Goats at Work: Meet the grazing goats that help manage vegetation and reduce wildfire fuel across Marin County.

✅ Student Art Contest:  Marin students in grades K–12 are invited to submit original artwork that celebrates what they love — and how they can help protect it from wildfire. Enter by August 8th for a chance to be part of a public showcase at Ember Stomp.

✅ Evacuation Drill: Marin fire and law enforcement agencies invite you to participate in a voluntary self-paced evacuation drill on September 6th. Learn more here.
