Due to logistical considerations, the FHA Tour Committee has decided to base the September 14 tour back at Kappas Green, rather than at the new WPH Park as previously planned. Kappas Green offers many amenities, such as shade trees, ample rest areas, and a natural setting for musical performers
Between 11 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., a dozen homes will be open. One home on Van Damme Dock, the community’s newest addition, will be featured, as will a number of homes that have never been on the Tour before. Homes will also be open on Liberty, Main, Issaquah and A docks. Most will be docented by the homeowners, who will be happy to answer questions about their unique waterfront lifestyle.
We Still Need a Few Good Men and Women
More than 100 people have already volunteered to welcome hundreds of visitors on tour day—but we still need 100+ more to make the tour smooth and successful. Volunteers work a half-day shift and may take the tour for free; prior experience is not necessary. To see volunteer job descriptions and shift times go to the Floating Homes website. From there, follow the prompts to volunteer or purchase tickets. Ticket buyers and volunteers will receive additional information after registering.
The tour is the primary funding vehicle for the Floating Homes Association and benefits other local nonprofits, including Sausalito Village and the Friends of the Marin City Library.
