WPH Rescinds Sublease Fees

Good news for WPH residents | photo and post by Larry Clinton

On October 28, tenants of Waldo Point Harbor received the following communication from the Harbor’s management:

In light of the different burdens caused by various types of subleasing of floating homes within Waldo Point Harbor, we are currently reviewing and revising the Sublease and Short Term Rental Rule (Lease Exhibit C-2, established 7/1/24).

Please be advised that Harbor leadership is in discussions with the FHA Legal Action Committee regarding an amendment to the Floating Home Rent Cap law that would allow market rate increases at time of sale.

We are therefore rescinding the charges charged July-October 2024 and pausing future charges until a new policy is devised.

For all payments made toward this charge you will receive a credit on your tenant account. This will reduce your berth fee amount owed for November.

Following discussions with WPH about reasonable limits on market rate increases, the Legislative Action Committee plans to present the proposed amendment to the other Sausalito floating home marinas, and then to the residents of each marina for your consideration.
