If the answer is yes to just one of those questions, consider volunteering with the Sausalito Floating Homes Association. The Floating Homes Association is looking for a few dedicated, organized, fun-loving, community members to help support the association as we enter 2025.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions:
President of the FHA Board of Directors: There is still time to submit a nomination for yourself or someone you know to become a candidate for president of the FHA. The term for the current President, Pete Hudson, will end in December and the new term starts in January. The FHA Board President oversees all aspects of the organization. Duties include creating committees, developing budgets, coordinating events, presiding over the monthly FHA Board meetings, and guiding the FHA’s vision for the future. Pete will be available to advise the new FHA president and other Board members. If you are interested, hurry — deadline for nominations is Monday, December 9 at 5:00 p.m. Contact Pete Hudson.
Vice President of the FHA Board of Directors: The Vice President will replace outgoing Liz Brott whose term ends in December. The Vice President supports the President with organizational management duties, takes on special fundraising and membership projects, and steps in when the President is not available. The deadline has been extended for Vice President nominations so if you are interested, contact Pete Hudson sooner than later!
FHA Tour Committee Chairperson: The FHA offers walking tours and tours of floating homes for visitors interested in learning more about this special place we call home. The FHA Tour Committee plans, coordinates, and staffs these tours with volunteers from throughout the community. The Chair of the Tour Committee brings to the position an understanding of event planning, tour organization, marketing, and has a desire to meet new people and have fun doing it. FHA Events Committee Volunteer: The newly formed FHA Events committee coordinates and puts on events, occasions, and adventures that increase the visibility and membership of the FHA and that contribute financially to organization. An events committee volunteer will bring to the position their ideas, organizational skills, experience with party and events planning, a desire to bring people together, and an interest in having fun.
