The second community meeting for the Sausalito Shoreline Adaptation Plan will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 25 at the Bay Model.
Catie Thow Garcia, the city’s Resiliency & Sustainability Manager, will summarize some of the thoughts heard in the first community-wide meeting. The focus of the meeting will be to dive into Sausalito’s sea level rise vulnerability and look to potential solutions along our shoreline. There will be a formal presentation from the city’s consultants followed by moderated breakout groups.
Everyone with interest in the project is welcome to attend, and reservations are requested.
The meeting will be held in between January king tides. Tides of 6.5’ or more are projected for the mornings of:
- Thur. Jan. 9
- Fri. Jan. 10
- Sat. Jan. 11
- Sun. Jan. 12
- Mon. Jan.13
- Tue. Jan.14
- Tue. Jan. 28
- Wed. Jan. 29
Consult the Floating Times’ interactive tide table to find the exact heights and times of these high-water events. As always, rains and winds can increase the heights of these tides.
If you need to drive those mornings, avoid flooded streets and parking lots, because even six inches of standing water can stall a car. Travelers can check 511.org for latest traffic and transit information.
