The City of Sausalito has created a Sea Level Rise Task Force to start helping the community plan for rising tides in the decades to come. The task force will also coordinate with the floating homes community and other neighbors on Richardson’s Bay to share knowledge across the entire Bay Area, using best practices and the best available science.
Sausalito Mayor Janelle Kellman, who serves on that task force along with East Pier residents Terry Thomas and Wilford Welch, will discuss the challenges of sea level rise at the FHA’s virtual Annual Meeting on February 17, including opportunities to adapt to sea level rise and strategies to address potential impacts.
The 90–minute meeting will be held via Zoom, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Also on the agenda is County Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters, who will discuss her role as supervisor for our district and how to put ideas into action through the proper county channels.
At the meeting, the Floating Homes Association will also present a financial statement for 2021, reports from FHA committees, and the traditional drawing for door prizes. Here are some of the prize donors Julie Durbin has already rounded up:
- Angelino’s—$100 gift certificate
- Marco Art of Hair—cut and blow dry
- Lash Out—Full set of lashes
- Rachelle Dorris—something fabulous
- Bay Area Escrow Services—a surprise
- Hawser Insurance—a surprise
- Jen Gennari—basket of books including her children’s book “Muffled“
