In advertently, the last paragraph in the suggested letter to legislators was changed from the original. Below is the correct version which should be emailed to each of our elected representatives:

Thanks to Stan Barbarich of Liberty Dock for compiling email addresses for each of the local and state representatives who are considering changes to the floating home marina rent stabilization law, AB252.

Below are the relevant contacts, and also the text of a letter you can copy and paste into the body of an email. If you’d like to add your own personal opinion or observations, all the better.

Write-in campaigns like this get a lot of attention from elected officials, so please take advantage of Stan’s diligent sleuthing and email them ASAP.

Sample letter:

I reside on a floating home in Southern Marin County. That fact makes me a resident of Marin County Supervisorial District 3, California State Assembly District 12 and State Senate District 2 and thus your constituent.

I am writing to ask you: please do not support or endorse any changes in the Floating Homes Residency Law in this session of the California Legislature.

The changes to AB252 recently requested by the Marin County Board of Supervisors at the suggestion of four floating home marina owners could – if enacted – threaten the ability of hundreds of floating homeowners to continue living in their homes and paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in real estate taxes to the County.
