The FHA has tentatively booked a private tour for May of this year. The tour will be held only if Marin County health restrictions permit.
For those who are unfamiliar with the private tours, they are an important source of income for the FHA, especially in years like 2022, when no large public tour will be offered.
The FHA offers tours to groups up to 40 individuals to see four floating homes on up to two different docks. The group pays a flat fee (currently $1500) and arranges its own transportation to our community.
The attendees are separated into groups of 10 or less, and spend about 10 minutes in each home. Guides accompany each group, and homeowners are asked to docent their own homes. The entire event takes an hour and a half.
This May, each participant must provide proof of vaccination and wear a mask (regardless of current county COVID-19 mandates).
If all goes as smoothly as anticipated, FHA private tour committee chair Carole Angermeir will begin actively marketing future tours to destination management companies, which often arrange for activities for the spouses of conventioneers. In the past we’ve hosted four to six tours a year.
Carole needs to build a roster of homes and volunteers to host these future tours. If you’re interested, please contact her.
