The Sausalito Floating Homes Association is excited to welcome its new executive members of the Board of Directors for the two-year term starting on January 1, 2025. The FHA bids farewell to Pete Hudson (President), Liz Brott (Vice President) and Candice Gold (Secretary) and welcomes Peter Miller (President) Alex Shoer (Vice President) and Karen Tischler (Secretary). FHA Treasurer Linda Futrell will remain in her current position. “We feel the incoming executive team is uniquely suited to successfully chart an exciting new course for the FHA,” said Pete Hudson, the outgoing FHA Board President. The FHA thanks Pete, Liz, and Candice for their work and leadership for the past 2 years; a term highlighted by changing berth rent legislation, efforts to boost membership, and a renewed focus on community events.
The FHA Dock Representative (Dock Rep) is that critical link between FHA members and the FHA Board of Directors. With help from their Dock Rep Alternates, the Dock Reps provide the conduit for members to keep abreast of the Board’s activities, express comments and concerns, and stay involved with the Floating Home community.
The FHA Board welcomes the new Dock Reps and Dock Rep Alternates:
- Aditi Iyer, Issaquah Dock Rep. (Position of Alternate is currently vacant)
- Grace Brumett, Yellow Ferry Dock Rep. (Position of Alternate is currently vacant)
- Harriet Hardy, Commodore Dock Rep; Sasha Cole as Alternate
- Koren Cohen, West Pier Dock Rep; Tristan Thomas as Alternate.
- Mark Bower, A-Dock Rep; Sally Champes as Alternate
- Mira Kanter, East Pier Alternate.
- Tam Morgan, Main Dock Rep. (Position of Alternate is currently vacant)
The FHA Board would like to thank the outgoing Dock Reps and Dock Rep Alternates for their support and dedication in bringing their dock community together over these past few years.
The FHA is also excited to announce some changes to the FHA Committees.
Betty Ann Kram has volunteered to Chair the newly formed FHA Events Committee. This new committee will stage events, occasions, and adventures that increase the visibility and membership of the FHA and contribute financially to our organization. If anyone is interested in joining Betty Ann, be sure to contact her.
Joe Novistki will replace Doug Young who will be stepping down as the Chair of the Environment committee. With Joe at the helm, the Environment Committee will focus on issues of sea level rise and shoreline adaptability within the Floating Home community. If you are interested in joining Joe on the Environment Committee, contact him.
Teddie Hathaway will be stepping down from the FHA Tour Committee and we are currently recruiting someone to fill her big shoes. The FHA would like to thank Teddie for all her hard work and dedication promoting FHA tours over these past few years. FHA walking tours and tours of floating homes engage visitors interested in learning more about this special place we call home. The FHA Tour Committee plans, coordinates, and staffs these tours with volunteers from throughout the community. The Chair of the Tour Committee brings to the position an understanding of event planning, tour organization, marketing, and has a desire to meet new people and have fun doing it. Don’t miss this opportunity to join a dynamic team to support the success of the FHA Tour Committee. If you are interested, contact Pete Hudson.
