The first herring of the 2016-17 season have finally arrived to San Francisco Bay. A spawn was first reported on Tuesday this week in Richardson Bay near Sausalito. A second spawn was reported Wednesday along the Bay Trail in Burlingame, centered around “Fisherman’s Park.” The spawn events were both small but a good sign that fish are in the bay and we can expect more to come very soon.
Please check back often to get updates or contact CDFW staff to report spawning herring around the bay. (reposted from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Pacific Herring Management News) – CLICK HERE for the full post.
