Help the Charles Van Damme Across the Finish Line

The Charles Van Damme near the end of her life | video clip and post from Richardson Bay Maritime Association

Volunteers are on the last leg of fundraising to restore the paddle wheel and smokestack from the Charles Van Damme Ferryboat, and permanently display these special artifacts in Waldo Point Park where the Ferryboat once stood.

Says volunteer coordinator Judyth Greenburgh:

We have all the necessary approvals and have raised or have pledges for 75% of the Project’s cost. We need $100K more to fully fund and commence the Project. We have a pledge from a generous donor to match the donations from others, so your donation will double in value!

ALL HANDS ON DECK!

A donation of any amount will help us close the funding gap.

But to thank those who can donate $500 or more, we invite you on a three-hour sail aboard a 130-foot brigantine, the tall ship Matthew Turner, on Saturday, September 21, from 2:00 to 5.00 pm.

Hors-d’oeuvres prepared by the Barrel House Restaurant, and complimentary wine by Deerfield Ranch Winery & Wine Spies will be served, accompanied by hearty sea shanties performed by the Marin Men’s Chorus.

Donors giving $2,500 or more will receive special recognition on the paddle wheel exhibit in the following categories: 1st Mate -$2,500, Captain -$5,000, and Admiral -$10,000.

We greatly appreciate your contribution, any amount welcomed which is tax deductible. And hope to see you at Maritime Day this Saturday August 3and aboard the Matthew Turner September 21.
