The American Red Cross is offering free installations of smoke alarms in floating homes on January 24. These alarms have 10-year batteries and can cut the risk of death from home fires in half.
If the last time you got new smoke alarm batteries was during the previous Red Cross installation in 2017, you’re due for replacements.
The installations will be completed between 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Saturday the 24th. Each appointment will include a brief discussion of home fire prevention tips.
