The September 14 open homes tour will feature five homes that will be opening to the public for the first time. Thanks to homeowners Mari Steeno (Issaquah), Jane Thompson (Van Damme) plus Claire and Greg Simeone, Tim Dabner and Julie Carlson (Liberty) for volunteering their homes.
These five will be joined by seven others who’ve been on the tour before: Jane Krueger and Patrick Hughes on Liberty, Lisa Boyd and Janet Theusen on Main, Leni Miller and Ted and Malia Rudolf on Issaquah, plus Michael Labate and Catherine Lyons on A Dock.
A Few Good Volunteers Still Needed
Tour volunteer coordinator Karen Tischler reports that there are still a few choice volunteer spots open for docents, ramp monitors and other key positions. Volunteers work a half-day shift and may take the tour for free. Prior experience is not necessary, so let your friends and frequent visitors know of this unique opportunity. Volunteer job descriptions and shift times appear on Signup. Or, contact Karen directly. The sooner you log on, the better your chance of getting the assignment and shift of your choice.
The tour is the primary funding vehicle for the Floating Homes Association and benefits other local nonprofits such as Sausalito Village and Friends of the Marin City Library.
