FHA Posts 2017 – A Look Forward to 2018

In case it isn’t obvious by now, the FHA does a lot on behalf of the community. The dock reps and FHA board members volunteer their time, but they can only do so much. Consider offering to help out your dock rep, or join a committee or attend one of several Open Forum Board Meetings (March 13, June 12 & September 11). Note the new time and day: the 2nd Tuesday of the month—starting one-half hour earlier at 7 p.m.—at the Marin City Fire Department Community Room.

If you want to know more about how the FHA benefits the community, and only have time to read one post, read What has the FHA Done for You Lately. In addition to services such as replenishing shopping carts, underwriting CERT training and offering GoBags at reduced rates, the FHA allocates funds ($10 per berth) for individual dock use (parties, or improvements, at the dock rep’s discretion) and $5 per residence to support composting.

Not yet a member? NEWS FLASH: membership is currently a steal at $25/year or $65 for 3 years—per household—but dues are set to increase February 1. This is the first dues increase in FHA history—new rates are $35/year or $100 for 3 years—per household.  Save money by joining NOW (click this link) or come to the Annual Membership Party February 24 and sign up on the spot. The party is free for members and children under 14. Guests of FHA members pay $10 each.

To keep up with Floating Homes Association matters as they unfold, watch this space for board meeting notes, published monthly. And finally, 2 more perks extended to all, regardless of membership, are the resources available on the FHA website and the Floating Times Newsletter.
