The once–annual Day in the Park celebration is back on again, and the Floating Homes Association needs help to present a full day of fun for young and old alike. The plan is to feature free food, live music, games, informational exhibits, and other attractions.

We’ll gather in the new park between Issaquah and Charles Van Damme docks from 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. Be sure to save that date to mingle with neighbors old and new. During the day, there will also be opportunities to join the FHA, or to renew or extend an existing membership.

Local magicians, musicians, and vocalists are invited to perform at this all–dock event. A sound technician will be onsite. Set lengths can be between 30 and 90 minutes. All acts receive a $100 stipend. If you are looking for an opportunity to get outside and perform, please contact Julie Durbin.

The FHA has also designated the area around the park for displaying art and promoting authors  for free. Come share your work with your neighbors and friends while they enjoy the festivities. Please plan on bringing any equipment (easels, tables, chairs, umbrellas). We will be setting up an hour before the party begins. If you are interested in participating, please contact Michael Labate.

There is a lot to do to get ready and you can help. Jobs include food prep and service (day before and day of), set up, take down, and activity coordination. If you are interested in lending a hand, please contact Pete Hudson.
