HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE NOVEMBER 11 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
Lynn Lester has retired as Liberty Dock rep after years of service with Taylor Ray and Kathryn Soter stepping in as the new Dock Reps. Christy Kieffer is the new Alternate Dock Rep. Bill Grief will replace Tam Morgan as the Main Dock Rep with Tam stepping back into the Alternate Dock Rep position.
September income totaled $1,415 which consisted of $540 in Membership Dues and $875 in Donations. October expenses were $2,682 resulting in a net loss of $1,267. Cash on hand is $12,917.
FHA Treasurer Linda Futrell and past President Pete Hudson presented a draft budget for 2026 showing a projected deficit. Pete, President Peter Miller, and Linda will present a revised draft at the January Board Meeting.
Peter and Vice President Alex Schoer detailed plans for a party to celebrate the passage of AB 754, at the home of Wilford Welch and Carole Angermeir on November 12. Invitees include members of the Legislative Action Committee and the FHA Board plus Assemblymember Damon Connolly; Susan Cook, Becky Smith and Bill Price from Waldo Point Harbor; Chris Tellus from Yellow Ferry Harbor, and Talia Smith from the County. Peter thanked Alex for arranging the catering; he also recognized the volunteers who offered to assist with the event, and those who donated to help offset the cost of the party.
Events Chair BettyAnn Kram initiated a discussion about the 2026 Annual Meeting and the Board agreed to a coffee hour format for the February meeting. BettyAnn will report back on a specific date and place. The Board hopes to present a silent auction which proved popular at the last annual meeting, and to generate sponsorships for the meeting.
The FHA Board Holiday Party will be a potluck to be held on Wednesday evening, December 10. This is an opportunity to welcome new dock reps and alternates to the Board and to thank those who are stepping down. Peter, BettyAnn, and Secretary Karen Tischler will organize the event.
Speaking for Marketing VP/PR Chair Julie Durbin, who was unable to attend the meeting, Karen outlined details of a VIP Private Tour scheduled for Friday November 14 for members of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and local officials.
Emergency Preparedness Chair Flo Hoylman announced that the American Red Cross will offer free installation of smoke detectors on January 24. Next week the Floating Times will carry instructions for signing up for installations. Peter thanked Flo for arranging this invaluable service to the FHA community.
Pete Hudson is forming an FHA Website Steering Committee to guide website development and improvements. He will request volunteers from the Board.
