This year the Floating Homes Association Annual Meeting will return to the Bay Model, with some distinct innovations.
First, it will be a daytime meeting, followed by a luncheon (complimentary for FHA members). Second, there will be a silent auction as well as the traditional door prize drawing.
Doors at the Bay Model will open at 10:00 a.m. to allow time to browse and bid on the silent auction items, which include an excellent array of upscale prizes:
- Overnight stay at Cavallo Point Lodge in historic or contemporary accommodation including breakfast for two
- Cocktail Bay Cruise for four aboard W.L. Stewart III
- Wine tasting for eight
- Certificates from Sausalito’s finest restaurants
- Computer consultation
- Photography portrait sessions
- Drone photography of your floating home
And more to be announced. If you or someone you know would like to donate an auction item, please contact auction organizers Carole Angermeir and Susan Huxtable of East Pier.
Carole and Sue told the Floating Times: “All these items are due to the generosity of the FHA homeowners and the Sausalito business community. So bring your checkbook and credit card and you can be a winner! The auction will end promptly at 1:00 p.m. See you there. Let the bidding begin!”
This event is a great opportunity to mingle with old friends and meet new friends until the meeting begins at 11:00 a.m. The guest speaker is Catie Thow Garcia, Sausalito’s Resiliency and Sustainability Manager, who will talk about sea level rise adaptation strategies. There will also be an update from the FHA’s Legislative Action Committee.
Thanks to FHA Events Chair BettyAnn Kram (Gate 6 ½) for organizing this event. BettyAnn needs volunteers to help with set-up and registration. If you’re willing to pitch in, please contact her.
Save the date: Saturday, March 15, 10-2:30, and keep an eye out for more details, including reservation instructions.
