Library to Host Eclipse Event in Dunphy Park on August 21

The Sausalito Library is hosting a special eclipse-watching event at Dunphy Park on Monday, August 21. The eclipse begins at 9:05 a.m. At its 10:22 a.m. peak, 78% of the Sausalito sun will be blocked by the moon.

For the event, the Library will have a supply of 80 eclipse-viewing glasses to wear and share. We’ll also provide coffee, juice, and snacks. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we plan to stream the Exploratorium’s eclipse feed in the Edgewater Room of Sausalito City Hall.

If you plan to watch the eclipse, but are unable to join us, please be sure to use protective eclipse-viewing glasses or lenses before staring into the sun. The Washington Post has published a helpful guide to ensuring that your viewing glasses are safe.
