As fire season approaches, PG&E has announced a new partnership to help you cope with Public Safety Power Shutoffs.
The utility has partnered with the California 211 Providers Network and the Disability Disaster and Access Resources Program to help you prepare and get local support during an outage.
211 is a free, confidential service that can refer you to local services and programs before and during outages and other emergencies. 211 can help you:
- Create a safety plan
- Explore backup power options and available programs
- Find rides, hotel stays and food during a PSPS
- Receive food replacement
- Apply for financial support or bill payment assistance
You can reach 211 online, by dialing 211 or texting ‘PREPARE’ to 211-211.
