The Bay area has been home to many of the greatest musical luminaries of our time, including Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, The Doobie Brothers, The Jefferson Airplane and Starship, Canned Heat … just to mention a few. Very few people know that many members of these legendary bands still live here today, though they tour worldwide.
Now Bay Area Bespoke Events (B.A.B.E.) is bringing together some of these musical masters from the 60’s and 70’s to jam at the Sausalito Center for the Arts starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10.
Performers will include members of well-known groups such as The Ace of Cups, Huey Lewis and the News, Big Brother and the Holding Company, the Blues Project and Commander Cody. Special guests include Maria Muldaur (Midnight at The Oasis, Don’t You Feel My Leg), Lester Chambers (Time Has Come Today), Norman Greenbaum (Spirit in The Sky) and Terry Haggerty (The Sons of Champlin).
Led by Jack Sherwood, manager of Sausalito’s Barrel House Tavern, B.A.B.E. offers stunning food displays, monthly music and performances, and also produces private themed parties.
