He’s Ba — ck!

Just over a year ago we reported that Peter Romanowsky, the self-proclaimed pirate chaplin (sic) of San Francisco Bay, who anchored out for six decades, had accepted a housing voucher from the Richardson Bay Regional Agency and moved to an apartment in Larkspur.

Recently, Romanowsky told the Marin IJ: “After 60 years, I’m back in my old neighborhood. It’s all coming up roses. I’m happy as a lark in Larkspur.”

So imagine our surprise to see him last Friday back at Gabrielson Park for Jazz and Blues by the Bay, sporting a pirate’s tricorn hat and chunky gilded cross.

Seems you can take the pirate off the salt water, but you can’t take the salt water out of the pirate.
