On Monday, the FHA’s Legislative Action Committee (FHA/LAC) emailed a link to a survey seeking opinions on amendments to the rent control and vacancy control portions of the Floating Homes Residency Law.
The confidential survey asks a few short questions to gather community input on an agreement reached between the FHA/LAC and the four Sausalito floating home marinas. A description of the proposed legislation is posted on the FHA website.
The survey link was emailed to all the owners and residents in the FHA’s database, over 600 names, and recipients have until April 16 to complete the questionnaire. Assemblymember Damon Connolly has agreed to introduce the amendments to the state legislature only with the substantial support of the community, so your participation in this survey is of the utmost importance.
If you did not see the email from the Floating Homes Association containing the link to the survey and are currently a resident or owner of a floating home, please check your spam folder. If you did not receive the email and link, check in with your FHA Dock Rep for assistance and make sure they have your correct email address.
If you would rather take the survey offline, know of individuals on your dock who don’t have email, or who don’t check email regularly, your FHA Dock Rep can print out copies to fill out. The FHA Dock Reps will collect the completed surveys before the 16th so they can be included in the tabulation of results.
If you have any other questions, please ask your FHA Dock Rep and s/he will put you in touch with a member of the Legislative Action Committee who lives on your dock.
The LAC will post a summary of survey responses soon after the survey closes.
