Thanks to the efforts of Marketing/PR Chair Julie Durbin, the Floating Homes Association co-hosted an after-work mixer for members of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce on September 17.
The mixer was held at Waterfront Wonders, 314 Caledonia Street, where proprietor Krystal Gambi, who grew up in the Gates co-op, offers an eclectic mix of art, jewelry, houseboat memorabilia and nautical novelties. Visitors toured her shop enjoying refreshments and coffee and socialized in her hidden backyard on a perfect late summer evening. Thanks to everyone who contributed food and beverages for this event.
Daryl Niemerow, President and CEO of the Chamber, welcomed the FHA delegation and expressed interest in building a mutually supportive relationship. Then Julie introduced a series of FHA members who spoke about private tours and sponsorship opportunities with ads on the FHA website and in the Floating Times. A number of attendees expressed interest in following up on these opportunities. Longtime floating home owner Judyth Greenburgh described the artistic culture of the waterfront community.
A drawing was held with prizes including a $100 gift certificate from Mollie Stone’s, and a floating homes tour for 10. The prize was won by Judyth, who will tour our community and see inside three unique floating homes. The FHA offered a similar tour to the Chamber board of directors. Please contact Lewis Shireman if you are interested in volunteering your home for future tours, and if you are interested in being a tour guide or docent.
Julie looks forward to pursuing marketing opportunities in partnership with the Chamber.
