TO KEEP EVERYONE UP TO DATE ON WHAT THE FHA BOARD IS DOING, HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED OR DECIDED AT THE AUGUST 2017 BOARD MEETING:
Linda Meyer (East Pier) wrote a site path to frame the rewriting of the website text. Jen Gennari (Issaquah) will use this as a guide for the rewrite.
Teddie Hathaway agreed to attend Congressman Hoffman’s forum about ocean protection at the Bay Model.
Various Board members planned to attend the County Planning Commission Hearing August 28 about a request to revoke the Seaplane Adventures license.
Teddie Hathaway spoke with several congressional people in Washington DC recently about getting floating home marinas included in pending federal legislation that would provide mobile home park owners a tax break if they sell their parks to the homeowners. She will follow up when Congress is back in session.
Environmental Committee Co-Chair Jen Gennari passed out a sign-up sheet for the Coastal Cleanup to be held on September 16. Dock reps will put these up on their docks. The cleanup will start at Kappas green and go up the coast to Commodore Dock.
Jen will send out a notice about an e-Waste Collection event on Saturday October 14.
The Tour has about half the number of volunteers it needs. Please volunteer or purchase advance reservations here.
The Board thanked Ali Johnston (Issaquah) for coordinating a successful Red Cross smoke alarm installation in 53 floating homes. There will be another installation day scheduled in Spring 2018. The Board agreed to invite key Red Cross officials to attend the tour as our guests, as a thank-you for their service.
The March, June and September Board meetings are designated as OPEN FORUMs, where interested parties are invited to attend.
Dock rosters will be distributed at the September meeting. Dock reps will update the lists, and contact any 2016 members who haven’t renewed for 2017.
