Volunteers are crucial to FHA | photo and post by Larry Clinton
HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE SEPTEMBER 9 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
Treasurer Linda Futrell reported that income of $2,250 was produced by $1,650 from two tours and $585 in Membership Dues. Expenses were minimal at $870, ending August with a net profit of $1,380 for the month. Cash on hand is $13,335. All sponsors’ invoices have been paid.
As there is no chair to lead the Day in the Park, coordination responsibilities will be split up among the board members. Secretary Karen will send an email to the Board members asking for volunteers and scheduling a Zoom meeting with those that can assist so that we can move forward with the event.
Marketing/PR Chair Julie Durbin stated that for the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce Mixer on Sept 17, the FHA has donations for all the beer, wine and desserts needed. During the event, sign up sheets will capture chamber members’ interest in advertising and private tours.
Private Tour Chair Lewis Shireman announced that he has a tentative schedule with a tour company for six tours in 2026, offering 3 boats for a maximum of 30 people at $55 per head.
Pete Hudson announced that volunteers are needed to clean up the membership database, conduct membership events, and launch a drive for new members.
A new membership poster, created by Tam Morgan, has been posted on dock bulletin boards.
Julie and Lewis have submitted edits for the Tours and Sponsorship web pages. Board members were encouraged to continue reviewing the website pages for additional updates.
A volunteer is needed to serve as advertising contact for sponsors.
