HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE JUNE 10 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
- With the amended rent control legislation being agreed on by the LAC and marina operators, the Board is planning to re-assign up to $3,000 of the $6,000 Legislative Action Committee’s Restricted Legal Fund to the General Use Account which requires approval from the LAC donors.
- Past President Pete Hudson and A Dock rep Mark Bower reported that all but four sponsors have renewed their ads in the Floating Times and on the website, and two more have been added. The website now offers sponsors a streamlined process to renew and upload new ads. Pete, Mark, FHA President Peter Miller and Vice President Alex Schoer are working on a strategy to attract new sponsors.
- Pete Hudson circulated a draft of a Dock Representative Roles and Responsibilities handbook and asked for review and input by July 20th.
- Rebecca Auster provided an overview of Resilient Neighborhoods, a Marin non-profit that offers a free Zoom workshop to help Marin residents prepare for climate related emergencies, reduce their carbon footprint, and create more sustainable homes and communities. She also recommended that the FHA community create litter pickup teams for cleaning up after King Tides and big storms. Alex will follow up with Rebecca.
