HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE FEBRUARY 10 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.

The FHA Board met in person for the first time in over a year this month, thanks to the hospitality of Carole Angermeir and Wilford Welch of East Pier. Five people attended the hybrid meeting via zoom. During the meeting:

  • New FHA Treasurer Cathryn Flynn reported January Income of $555 and expenses of $2,022 for a loss of $1,467.
  • Events Chair BettyAnn Kram announced that plans have been finalized for the February 21 annual meeting. See details in accompanying post. Sponsorships will more than offset the expense of the meeting.
  • Floating Times Editor Larry Clinton noted that he has received no response to his post for someone to replace him as editor.
  • Private Tours Chair Lewis Shireman is updating lists of volunteers and homes for 2026 tours, as well as destination management companies and retirement communities. Liberty Dock rep Taylor Ray will help, using artificial intelligence tools.
  • Emergency Preparedness Chair Flo Hoylman reported that on Saturday, January 24, 49 homes received new free smoke detectors which was the largest installation the Red Cross has done in Marin County. For those that are already CERT trained, there is a March 11th quarterly meeting with training updates. This will be mentioned in the Floating Times.
  • Environment Committee Chair Joe Novitski reported that the Sausalito city council turned down the sea level rise mitigation plan that was presented on November 18 because it lacked the input of shoreline business owners.
