HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE MAY 13 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
Reporting for Treasurer Linda Futrell, past President Peter Hudson pointed out that there is now less than $10,000 in the FHA bank account. The Board is pursuing various fundraising scenarios.
Pete also suggested kicking off a Membership Campaign this summer. He will be sending out a personal email to the one-third of the community that have not updated their memberships to request they do so and to sign up on the FHA website via Member Planet.
A campaign has begun to renew the 14 sponsors that advertise on the FHA site and Floating Times. Pete’s Sponsorship Committee Team is asking them to renew for the year. Pete is also working with the FHA webmaster to develop an online renewal process for sponsor convenience. The Board is seeking volunteers to pursue additional sponsors such as service providers and local restaurants.
FHA Events Chair BettyAnn Kram will gather a committee together in July to begin planning for the October 19 Day in the Park. She and committee members Peter Miller, Pete Hudson, Alex Schoer and Linda Futrell are seeking additional planning help. To join the committee, contact BettyAnn. FHA Secretary Karen Tischler will develop a Volunteer Signup site for folks to help during the event.
In response to a request from Koren Cohen, West Pier Dock Rep, Pete Hudson reported that he is working on an orientation package for dock reps and will circulate a draft soon.
A Dock Rep Mark Bower reported that people on his dock are still having sign-in issues with the Member Planet site which Pete Hudson continues to address with the FHA webmaster. Mark also reported confusion about the difference between family and individual memberships. As spelled out on the FHA site, an Individual Membership covers only one person per home. A Household Membership covers all adults living at the same address.
East Pier Dock Rep Carole Angermeir has requested that some Board meetings be held in person, and offered her home, possibly quarterly, so there will be a combination of in-person and Zoom meetings.
Public Relations and Marketing Chair Julie Durbin announced that on September 17, the FHA will co-sponsor a Sausalito Chamber Mixer at Waterfront Wonders on Caledonia Street.
Peter Miller announced that he was meeting with a potential candidate for the Tour Committee Chair.
Pete Hudson proposed developing Self-Guided Tours which visitors could purchase for their phones.
Environmental Chair Joe Novitski announced that he, Peter Miller and Catie Thow Garcia, Sausalito Resiliency Manager, walked around the flooded areas off Gate 6 Road and Van Damme Dock, which helped her understand how the flooding occurs and that Gate 6 Road, for the northern end of the marinas, is the infrastructure spine for the houseboats. She confirmed that the county has no plans for improving Gate 6 Road.
