HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT THE APR 8 FHA BOARD MEETING. MORE DETAILS WILL BE REPORTED LATER IN THE FLOATING TIMES.
Treasurer Linda Futrell reported that the March15 Annual Meeting, which was produced on budget for $8,015, brought in $3,872 in revenues, resulting in a net loss for the month of $5,700.
Past President Peter Hudson volunteered to take on the task of renewing sponsorships on the FHA website and in the Floating Times. These have been projected to be a major revenue stream for the Association. In the future, the Association needs someone to solicit additional sponsors.
One inquiry has come in from a group interested in a Private Tour in May. FHA President Peter Miller will coordinate the homes and volunteers needed but is actively seeking someone to take charge of this very important function. The Association has a list of organizations that have brought tours here over the years. All that is needed is someone to contact these standbys to see their interest in coming back and someone to take over as Tour committee coordinator. If you’d like to help, please contact Peter. After much discussion, it was agreed to move Day in the Park to October in order to allow the community to be focus on rent control voting. FHA Events Manager BettyAnn Kram seeks volunteers to help her plan the community festivities.
Joe Novitski and Larry Clinton of the FHA’s Legislative Action Committee outlined the rent control agreements that have been tentatively reached with the marinas and detailed the committee’s efforts to seek community input.
Marketing/PR Chair Julie Durbin is planning to sponsor a Chamber of Commerce Mixer in September. She will need volunteers to represent FHA membership and tours.
Emergency Preparedness Chair Flo Hoylman is offering to bring firefighters out for fire drills on docks that express interest. To participate, contact Flo.
Pete Hudson is assembling volunteers to help organize the FHA storage locker and Disaster Response trailers.
To streamline the management of the FHA membership database, the Board agreed to drop the 3-year membership option. Annual individual and business membership will be automatically renewed every year, unless the member opts out.
