The first of Sausalito Library’s 2018 Sausalito Documentary Films: Turning the Tide: Saving Richardson Bay – Friday, January 26 at 7pm inside the Sausalito Library.
Through interviews, archival photographs and video, Turning the Tide (2006, 60 minutes) tells the story of a pivotal event in the history of Richardson Bay: the dramatic community effort to block a massive, 2000-home development called “Reeds Port.” The film also covers the rescue and transport of the Lyford House and the story of Rose Verrall, Tiburon’s “Goat Lady,” who donated the valuable land which now serves as the site for the house and the Richardson Bay Audubon Center.
Filmmaker David Gotz will be on hand to answer questions after the screening.
