TO KEEP EVERYONE UP TO DATE ON WHAT THE FHA BOARD IS DOING, HERE ARE SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE DISCUSSED OR DECIDED AT THE JULY, 2017 BOARD MEETING:

  • Government Relations chair Teddie Hathaway reported that Sausalito is no longer part of the Richardson’s Bay Regional Agency. Sausalito has hired two part-time staff to patrol the waters and do the administrative work.
  • Larry Clinton (Gate 6 1/2) has been interviewed for an article on three floating home communities for the Chronicle’s October Habitat Magazine insert. He also was interviewed by a French TV crew, and a reporter from the French National Geographic. All this publicity will appear after our Tour.
  • Environmental co-Chair Jen Gennari discussed the need to start educating residents about sea level rise.
  • In addition to a day-long line-up of Bands on Kappas Green during our 9/30 Tour, Yellow Ferry Dock will showcase Lindy dancers and a 40s DJ. Vintage cars will be exhibited, as well. The Tour has about half the number of volunteers it needs. Please volunteer or purchase advance reservations here.
  • Environmental Chair Flo Hoylman asked for volunteers to help with the August 19 smoke alarm installation.
  • The Floating Times now has 124 subscribers, but the goal is to have the entire community subscribe, so dock reps were asked to remind residents about this publication. One way is to forward the weekly e-mail alerts to neighbors.
