Preliminary results from the recent FHA survey indicate that emergency preparedness is a top priority in our community. In response, Emergency Services Chair Flo Hoylman has arranged for a Zoom seminar which will specifically address wildfire safety issues for floating homes.
The meeting, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. on October 29, will be conducted by Southern Marin Fire Department officials Tom Welch and Marshall Nau. Topics to be covered include:
- Specific dock safety issues during a wildfire
- The best evacuation route from your dock
- What you should bring with you
- Sheltering in a nearby Community Refuge Area if evacuation isn’t feasible
- And more.
