Waldo Point’s boat-in movie innovation is going global. Sausalito Village reported that Paris recently transformed the River Seine into a floating cinema for social distancing fun.

On July 18, as part of the annual Paris Plages,  a floating movie theater was set up on the river at the Bassin de la Villette, between the banks of the Seine and the Loire.

Marking the opening of the summer season, the free film screening presented Le Grand Bain. The movie, entitled Sink or Swim in English, tells the story of a depressed man who joins a synchronized swimming team made up of middle aged men.

For the occasion, a fleet of 38 electric boats were made available, and 150 deckchairs were set up on an artificial beach on the Quai de Seine.
